BHIB Supporting the Aviva Community Fund 2018
The Aviva Community Fund offers the chance for Not-For-Profit organisations to get funding for projects that make a positive difference to their community.It is open to everyone, whether you have a connection to Aviva or not. The Aviva Community Fund will finance over 500 projects across different fund levels (up to £1,000 to up to £25,000), giving money to communities across the UK.
Who are BHIB supporting?
This year we are supporting 5 different projects across a variety of different community groups. These groups include charities, schools, community projects, centres and sports clubs.
Soft Touch Arts
Soft Touch Arts are an award winning Leicester charity who use arts, media and music activities as a tool to engage and change the lives of disadvantaged young people. Your votes will help to build ‘The Make Room’ – a centre filled with equipment to improve creativity and build on business/entrepreneurial skills.
Blaby & Glen Parva Community Service
Blaby & Glen Parva Community Service is a small local charity founded in 1966 by the Local Council of Churches whom have since become independent. Mainly supporting the elderly, their premises at Blaby Drop in Centre allows up to 200 people to benefit from a range of clubs. The drop in centre is a lifeline for many elderly people who live alone and can feel isolated. Your votes will help to replace all of the chairs which the older people find difficult to get in and out of.
Arts For Health
Arts for Health is a not-for-profit organisation which is ran by volunteers and aims to improve mental health through the provision of accessible art opportunities. Your votes will help Arts for Health to deliver a higher standard of music sessions to include song writing, performances with musical equipment and use of multi-media.
Red Hill Field Primary School
Red Hill Field is a primary school in Narborough which caters for children between 4-11 years old. This project will help the school to fund replacement curtains in their hall to create a refreshing, positive environment. This funding will benefit roughly 300 pupils plus parents, staff and people visiting the school.
Winstanley Wizards are a table tennis club based at Winstanley Community College in Braunstone. They are the only local table tennis club in the District of Blaby, offering table tennis sessions for all ages and abilities. Your votes will help to fund two new table tennis tables to continue to offer coaching to young children/beginners.
How do I vote?
The voting opened on the 23rd October and closes on the 20th November. Registering and voting is simple. Firstly, you just need to click on the link of the project you want to vote for and click ‘register and log in’ then register your email and password. Once you have verified your email you will be redirected to the homepage where you can start casting your votes on the above projects. You will have a dial from 1-10 of how many votes you wish to give to that particular project.
Make sure you get your friends, family and colleagues involved and registered to vote! Your support will help to make a huge difference to the communities involved.
