Property – Cold Weather Precautions
Gavin Dickson – Professions Team Leader
Depending on where you are in the country, some extreme cold temperatures have either already arrived or are forecast to arrive very shortly.
Such cold weather can have an impact on heating systems and power supplies at your property, in addition to more obvious risks such as ice, snow and flooding.
BHIB have made available a couple of useful documents which can help you to prepare for such issues:
- Firstly, a checklist to assist you in checking your heating and power supplies along with some practical guidance
- Secondly, a useful document relating to ice and snow which includes some risk management guidance, in particular around who is responsible for clearance etc
If you are a BHIB client and have any queries about this then please do not hesitate to contact us and we can put you in touch with our Risk Manager, Brian Brookes, who will endeavour to answer any specific questions.
